Hot Dip Galvanized Steel
Hot dip galvanized sheet steel is produced in a continuous hot dip galvanizing line in which the steel travels through a bath of molten zinc, at the exit of which high pressure air or nitrogen is used to remove any excess, creating a closely controlled coating thickness. The zinc coating protects the base metal by providing a barrier to corrosive elements and by galvanic protection. Hot dip galvanized sheet steel is available in various coating thicknesses. Service life depends on coating thickness and the severity of the service environment.
Typical applications: construction products such as studs, HVAC
