Cold Rolled Steel
In the manufacture of cold rolled sheet steel hot rolled pickled and oiled sheet is reduced in thickness, in a continuous or reversing mill, at ambient temperature, using rolling solution under tension and pressure. After cold reduction the steel is in a highly stressed state having very little ductility and is referred to as “full hard”. Subsequent annealing and temper rolling renders the product very formable with excellent thickness tolerances, flatness tolerances and surface finish.
Typical applications: office furniture, appliances
